The classic story, told exactly as it should be.

Alice follows a White Rabbit in a waistcoat down the rabbit hole and lands in a mysterious land. On her way she meets the Blue Caterpillar, the grinning Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, and the Dodo, who tells her story, all the way to the court of the Queen of Hearts. Just Lewis Carroll's beloved tale, with its songs, dances and wonders intact.

What's included

Alice in Wonderland,
and everything that comes with it

One ticket is the whole visit: nothing else to book or add on the day.

The Musical & the Intermission

Alice's journey through Wonderland on the big stage: wonderful songs, bright costumes and stage effects, in two acts, with original music and big dance numbers. Halfway through, a 15 minute intermission: time to rest, stretch little legs and have a snack before the second act begins.

Santa's Disco Afterparty

When the curtain falls, the celebration moves to a separate hall: dancing with Santa and his Elves, music, and room for every child to join in.

Santa with his arms raised, dancing with three elves and a circle of children under a disco ball, beside a tall Christmas tree

Photos with Santa & a Gift for Every Child

Every child receives a gift, already included in the ticket, and during the party children take their photos with Santa, gifts in hand, right on your phone, so the pictures are yours the same day.

For kids & parents

Made for wiggly kids, easy for parents

Short, bright scenes, a song or a dance every few minutes, and a story that never sits still: this show was created for audiences ages 4 to 12, wiggles included. Older kids follow the plot and the jokes; younger ones ride the music and the colour.

For parents it is just as deliberate: one nearby theatre, one visit. Easy to reach from anywhere in the GTA, with parking right at the theatre, and nothing else to book or plan on the day.

  • ✓
    A story that keeps moving

Songs, dances and surprises in every scene, so the story never sits still.

  • ✓
    Humour on two levels

Jokes written for kids, with a second layer that parents catch. Nobody is just waiting for the little ones to laugh.

  • ✓
A proper break, a sensible length

The musical runs in two acts with a 15 minute intermission to stretch, snack and reset, and the whole visit, party included, fits into about two hours.

  • ✓
Easy to reach from across the GTA

Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is an easy drive from Vaughan, Markham, Thornhill and North York, north of Toronto, with parking at the theatre.

  • ✓
    Everything in one ticket

The musical, Santa's Disco Afterparty with his Elves in a separate hall, and the children's gifts: all included, so there is nothing else to book, add or plan on the day.

  • ✓
Easy from the door to your seats

Arrive about 30 minutes early, enjoy the foyer photo spots, and after the show take your own photos with Santa during the party, right on your phone.

Who makes this show

The team behind Toronto's family Christmas

Alice in Wonderland is produced by STAR Entertainment. For 15 years, this team has brought large-scale Christmas productions to Toronto — the kind of celebration families plan their holidays around.

Last year, the same team presented The Nutcracker: A Christmas Musical. That experience is in every detail of Alice: a story paced for children rather than shortened for them, full-scale staging, costumes and effects, original music and choreography, and performers who know exactly how to hold a hall full of four-to-twelve-year-olds from the first song to the final bow.

Good to know

Questions parents ask us

How long is the whole experience?

About two hours in total, all in one visit: the musical in two acts, a 15 minute intermission in the middle, and then Santa's Disco Afterparty, where every child receives their gift.

Is the show OK for children under 4?

The show is made for ages 4 to 12 and paced for them. Younger children are welcome (with their own ticket) and usually love the music, colour and characters.

Where is it, and what about parking?

Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, 10268 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, with parking available at the theatre. It is an easy drive from Vaughan, Markham, Thornhill and North York.

Are the party and the gift included in the ticket price?

Yes. Your ticket covers the musical, the afterparty in a separate hall with Santa and his Elves, and a personal gift for the children.

Can we take our own photos with Santa?

Yes, bring your phone or camera. During the afterparty, parents take photos with Santa themselves, so the pictures are on your phone right away.

Does my baby or toddler need a ticket?

Yes. By the theatre's rules, every spectator needs a ticket, whatever their age, including babies and toddlers.

Is this show created for children, or a regular show kids can attend?

Created for children, from the start. The story, pace, humour and running time are built for ages 4 to 12, with jokes and choreography that older kids, and parents, enjoy on their own level too.

Can kids come dressed as characters?

Absolutely, Wonderland costumes are welcome and encouraged. It is the best outfit for the foyer photo spots and the party, and we love seeing Alices, Hatters and little White Rabbits in the audience.

Is there food during intermission? Where do we leave the stroller? Is there wheelchair seating?

The 15 minute intermission is a good time to stretch and have a snack. Strollers stay in the lobby during the show, and the ushers will show you where. The theatre has wheelchair seating: choose accessible seats when you book, or call the box office at 905-787-8811.

When should we arrive?

Plan to arrive about 30 minutes before your performance: time to park, hang up coats and enjoy the foyer photo spots before the curtain rises.

Can I return or exchange tickets?

Tickets are sold through the theatre box office, and returns and exchanges follow the box office's policy. Call the box office at 905-787-8811 and they will help.

One weekend only

Give them a Wonderland Christmas to retell all year

Three performances, December 26 and 27, and every ticket holds the whole celebration: the musical, Santa's party and the children's gifts. When these seats are gone, the rabbit hole closes until next year.
